On Ya Bike to celebrate Bike Month!

Published on Tuesday, 1 October 2024 at 8:10:25 AM

It's Bike Month!

Spring is in the air – the birds are chirping, gardens are blooming and the sun is shining – what better time to take a slow-roll tour of our streets and see what's changed over the winter?

One thing you'll find is Archer Street now has its very own set of protected bike lanes, designed to improve the safety of riders and boost pedestrian access to the heart of Carlisle, which is soon to be further transformed by Metronet's new Carlisle train station and the Town's expanded streetscape improvements!

Before we get back to work though, we want to celebrate where we're at –

Join us on Saturday 19 October for 'On Ya Bike - Archer St' community ride and street activation.

Pedal, scoot and ride from Rayment Park in Lathlain to the party at Archer Street Car Park. Or, if the deadly treadly is not really your thing, feel free to head directly to the car park to take part in a host of family activities.

🚴 Rider info 🚴‍♀️

Riders meet 9am at Rayment Park, Lathlain near the blue bus shelter for a 10-minute slow roll to the Archer Street Town Centre via the new protected bike lanes. (See the map of the route below).

The slow roll will be led by Town staff – please wear your helmet and keep a keen ear out for instructions. 👂

If you are intending to ride, please fill out the registration form on the event page. If you registered for the previous postponed event, please register again so we know you're still keen!
