Youth Action Plan Redevelopment
The Town of Victoria Park is re-developing its Youth Action Plan in partnership with the Youth Affairs Council of WA (YACWA).
Why we are developing a new Youth Action Plan
The Town has successfully delivered strong outcomes for young people through the delivery of the Youth Action Plan 2021-2024 and the interim plan from 2024-2025. The next plan aims understand the changing landscape of youth needs and address these over the next four years, by building on previous successes. To do this we will speak with:
- Young people aged 12 to 25 who live, work, study, volunteer or visit/use groups and services in the Town
- Parents and caregivers of young people
- Groups, services, and organisations that work with or have a connection to young people
How you can get involved in the Youth Action Plan
Young people
All the youth engagement elements of the consultation will be designed with input from the Vic Park Young Leaders group.
Youth workshops
Two youth workshops will be held at schools in the Town in term 4 of 2024. In early 2025, we will then hold a design challenge workshop. Members of the Vic Park Young Leaders group and other interested young people will be invited to learn what we heard through the consultation and help design solutions for inclusion in the next Plan.
Youth survey
To enable all young people to contribute to the Plan, we are developing a youth survey. This survey will be delivered to young people by the Vic Park Young Leaders. It will also distributed online and through local organisations. Complete the survey to go into the draw to win a $100 gift card.

Parents and caregivers
Parents and caregivers of young people aged 12 to 25 in the Town will have an opportunity to have their say on current service provision and ideas for the future via a parent and caregiver survey. This survey will also distributed online and through local organisations. Complete the survey to go into the draw to win a $100 gift card.

Groups, services, and organisations
One on one interviews
We will hold six one on one interviews via phone and via videoconference from October through to December 2024. These will take 20 to 30 minutes and are for any individual that connects with young people including youth services, community services, recreation services, faith groups, schools and other education providers and businesses.
Solutions focused roundtable
In early 2025, we will hold a solutions focused roundtable with stakeholders from groups, services, organisations, staff, and elected members to look at the consultation data and work through solutions to some identified challenges. Attendees will co-design actions and initiatives that may go in the Youth Action Plan.
