Are you looking to make a difference to help advance reconciliation, respect and inclusion for First Nations people?
The Town of Victoria Park is calling for expressions of interest for community members to join the Town's Mindeera Advisory Group. The group is a dynamic, dedicated and diverse group of passionate locals who provide strategic advice to help deliver the Town's Reconciliation Action Plan.
Focus areas for the group have included:
- Renaming parks and reserves in the Town
- Identifying significant Noongar sites
- Holding Town-wide ceremonies and celebrations of Whadjuk Noongar culture
- Caring for country by planting native trees and shrubs throughout the Town, and
- Partnering with local indigenous foundations, businesses and communities.
The membership term is usually two years and would run until October 2026. The advisory group meets every second month and involvement typically includes attending meetings, reviewing information prior to meetings, and making recommendations to help implement the Town's Reconciliation Action Plan.
