Since first being elected to council in October 2017 I have thoroughly enjoyed representing the town and working with my fellow elected members to make Vic Park the best it can be. I was appointed as Deputy Mayor from 2019-2021 and recently appointed again as Deputy Mayor for the 2023-2025 term of council.
I have a Masters Degree in Public Health and tertiary qualifications in History, Anthropology and Education. I have professional experience working with communities in the arts sector and working in alternative dispute resolution in the health sector. My work is currently in the not-for-profit sector where I visit primary schools to teach children about hospitals and the health system, breaking down fears and anxieties and having heaps of fun playing with stethoscopes.
I have lived in Vic Park since 2002 and have chosen to raise my family and rescue dogs in our wonderful community. I have served our community as a volunteer for many years across many local organisations including Victoria Park Primary school, Honeypot Playgroup, The Australian Breastfeeding Association and local sports clubs. When I find time for hobbies, I enjoy reading, bushwalks, jigsaw puzzles and music.
I have previously represented the town at WALGA and Catalina Regional Council, and have served on several committees and working groups including the Urban Forrest Strategy Implementation Working Group. I am currently a member of the Burswood Park Board where I help shape the strategic direction of this important area of parkland within our town, and also serve on the CEO Performance Review Committee and the Mindeera Advisory Group.
