The Town has received a development application for Home Business at the above-mentioned property.

The applicant seeks development approval for the business ‘We Empty Houses Pty Ltd’ to operate from the premises.  The majority of work associated with the business (emptying houses and cleaning) takes place off-site at other locations. Business activities at the subject site includes operation of a small office and temporary storage of items.

In accordance with Local Planning Policy 37 – Community Consultation on Planning Proposals, you are invited to comment on the following:

 

  • Proposed Use - A Home Business is classified as an “AA” (discretionary use) within the Residential zone under Town Planning Scheme No. 1.

 

In accordance with Local Planning Policy 2 – Home Based Businesses, the Town will consider (amongst other matters) whether the proposed home based business activity:

 

  • Is small in scale, unobtrusive and compatible with surrounding buildings and uses;
  • Is compatible with the character of the locality; and
  • Has a prejudicial effect on the amenity of their locality by reason of any form of emissions or increased numbers of vehicle movements.
