The state heritage-listed Edward Millen House, surrounding buildings and Edward Millen parkland are planned to undergo a major restoration and heritage redevelopment.

The Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project is a Town of Victoria Park will revitalise Lathlain as a sustainable multi-use sporting, recreation, health and education precinct for the whole community.

The final stage of the Lathlain Precinct Redevelopment Project, Lathlain Park Zone 1 will see construction of a new Perth Football Club grandstand and community facility.

The Town has committed to rehabilitate and revegetate the Kent Street Sand Pit, comprising of the wider environmentally significant Jirdarup Bushland Precinct in Kensington. The project aims to direct the future management of the reserve, restoring the natural environment and enhancing community connection to the space.

Archer and Mint streets form a central roadway linking Orrong Road with Albany Highway and connecting people to the Carlisle Town Centre, Carlisle train station, East Victoria Park Primary School and East Victoria Park Town Centre. In the Town’s draft Local Planning Strategy, this corridor forms the western boundary of the Carlisle Station / Archer Street Precinct and connects to the Oats Street Precinct. These Precincts are defined as activated, transit-orientated and mixed-use areas that capitalise on their proximity to Perth and the Albany Highway Centre.

The Macmillan Precinct is a much-valued hub of community services. In 2018, a detailed audit commissioned by the Town shows that significant renewal and investment in the coming decades will be required to replace the Precinct’s ageing buildings, including the Vic Park Library and Leisurelife Centre, and meet changing community needs.

In partnership with the Department of Transport, the Town is constructing an off-road walking and cycling path that will connect Welshpool Road to Great Eastern Highway and complete the Principal Shared Path route along the Armadale Railway.

McCallum Park is located on the picturesque foreshore of the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River) along the suburban edge of Victoria Park. It is gateway connecting the Town of Victoria Park, City of Perth and City of South Perth, with a stunning backdrop of the Perth CBD skyline. Its location makes it ideal for an activity precinct comprised of diverse active and passive spaces to celebrate cultural identity and to foster a connected, thriving and healthy community.

A masterplan has been developed to guide the short and long term revitalisation of Higgins Park and Playfield Reserve. 

The Town is currently progressing the lighting upgrade component of the Higgins Park Masterplan to improve lighting/visibility to formal and informal recreation areas.

The Burswood South Streetscape Improvement Plan will guide the revitalisation of streets and public spaces in the Burswood South mixed-use precinct over the next 10 years.

The Etwell Street Revitalisation Project will see the Town transform Etwell Street between Riverview Road and Northampton Street into a vibrant local hub connecting local businesses and the community.

The Town has recently completed landscape upgrades at GO Edwards Park, a high quality parkland containing mature trees, open turf, a playground and a rehabilitated wetland area.

A State Government city-wide project with many facets – one being the removal of level crossings and the elevation of the rail line through Victoria Park and Canning – METRONET works are scheduled to begin in our Town in 2023 and will have impacts for commuters, as well as nearby residents and business owners.

The Causeway Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge is a Main Roads WA project, being delivered by the Causeway Link Alliance, and will be constructed to improve access across the Swan River.

The bridge will offer a safe connection between the Perth CBD and Victoria Park, with part of the bridge located in McCallum Park.

The Town of Victoria Park and the City of Canning councils approved a NRUPP partnership with Western Power, to deliver an estimated $15.6 million of local power infrastructure investment covering St James, Bentley and East Victoria Park.

A new round of underground power projects to place existing overhead powerlines underground. Project areas are selected by Western Power and prioritised for inclusion based on those with infrastructure most in need of maintenance and upgrading being given highest priority.
