Public Outdoor Ping Pong

The Town of Victoria Park has launched an innovative community initiative with the installation of five Public Outdoor Ping Pong (POPP) tables featuring bold, creative designs by selected Western Australian artists in designated parks around the Town.

The Town identified POPP as a creative way to promote physical activity, artwork and space activation within the one initiative, and it was added to the Town’s Public Art Masterplan 2013-2015.

The idea was introduced at six community engagement workshops in the Town during July and August 2013 and received overwhelming support from local participants.

The Town’s POPP initiative also aims to create more interest for the Western Australia Table Tennis Association (WATTA), who are based in East Victoria Park.

Paddles and balls will initially be provided at each table but users are encouraged to bring their own.
